Accessible via cable car from Balea Waterfall (Cabana Bâlea Cascadă), the hotel typically opens mid-December for a 4-month season, depending on the weather. Highlights include the snowy landscape and winter attractions.

Pictures from winter 2021 / 2022: The Bride's Veil Waterfall (Romanian: Valul Miresei) is also known as Rachitele Waterfall and is located near the village of the same name (Rachitele), about 60 km west of Cluj-Napoca.

The waterfall is situated on the border of the Apuseni Nature Park / Mountains and is worth visiting in any season.

It has a depth of up to 3.6 meters and a diameter of about 15 meters. The fairy-tale green-blue water never freezes in winter, as the lake is continuously fed by a spring.

Lake Balea can be reached by cable car / gondola (3.7 km, Monday to Sunday, between 9:00 and 17:00). The starting point of the cable car is Balea waterfall (Cabana Balea Cascada).

Putna Waterfall is located in Vrancea district, on the administrative territory of Tulnici municipality, near Lepșa village.

It is about 80 meters long and the water gathers in a lake about 12 meters deep.

Clocota Waterfall is located near the village of Geoagiu-Băi in Hunedoara County.
Although it is not very big, it impresses by its fall and the beauty of its surroundings.

Lake Balea ( in Romanian: Lacul Balea) is a glacial lake at an altitude of 2,034 meters in the Fagaras Mountains in central Romania, Sibiu County.

There are two chalets open all year round, a meteorological station and a mountain rescue station (Salvamont). The lake can be reached by car in the summer by the Transfagarasan road and the rest of the year by a cable car from the chalet "Balea Cascada".

The lake is located in Sibiu County and is about 80 km away from the city of Sibiu (in German Hermannstadt) and about 70 km away from the city of Făgăraș (in German Fogarash or Fugreschmarkt).

Winter landscape in Cheile Jietului in Hunedoara county.

Cascade of the Horses is one of the most beautiful and with 90 meters of drop, also the largest waterfall in Romania, which is located on the northern slope of the Rodna Mountains ( here actually falls 😊 )

Das im Talkessel Canyon ( auf Deutsch Pferdeschlucht ) gesammelte Wasser des Flusses Izvorul Cailor fließt in mehreren Kaskaden über die Podul Cailor ( Pferdebrücke ), einen steilen ab Kalksteinfels. The waterfall is located at an altitude of approx. 1,300 meters near Borsa resort ( Maramureș county ), close to the border with Bistrita-Nasaud county.

The waterfall is accessible on foot by Borsa, as well as from the upper areas of the Rodna Mountains. In addition, there is a ( chairlift starting only for a group of at least 10-15 people ) with which you can start from Borsa resort in approx. 15 minutes to reach the waterfall.

On the upper part of the river Bucureasa Mare, in the mountains of the Capatans Mountains, there are a variety of waterfalls, from which the Scorus Falls is definitely worth visiting.

Lake Bâlea is located at an altitude of 2,034 meters in the nature reserve of the Făgăraș Mountains in Sibiu County. It has a length of 360 meters and a depth of up to 11.5 meters.

In summer, the lake can be reached by car on the Transfăgărășan route, in winter only by cable car. Bâlea Waterfall, also called “Urlătoarea Bâlei”, is also located in the Făgăraș Mountains, between Moldoveanu and Negoiu peaks, at an altitude of over 1,200 meters.

At the headwaters of the Bucureasa Mare River, in the Munţii (Căpăţânii Mountains), there are a number of waterfalls, of which the Scoruș Cascada (waterfall) is certainly worth a visit.

The waterfall is located near the village/commune of Mălaia in the county of Vâlcea in the southwest of Romania.

The Lotrisor Waterfall in the Cozia National Park (Căpățănii Mountains in the Lotrisor Valley area) has a drop of almost 30 meters and was created in the 1950s.

At that time, the workers led the course of the Lotrisor river through a 300-meter-long tunnel dug in the rock, thus creating the current waterfall.

The Lolaia waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Hunedoara county, in the northern part of the Retezat Mountains.

The waterfall with a height of about 13 to 16 meters is located at an altitude of 1,050 meters in the north of the Retzat National Park in Valea Nuc inoara. This valley collected the water of various streams into one river.
