Today there is a small museum in Humulesti, which is dedicated to the Romanian storyteller Ion Creangă (1837-1889) in the village of Humulesti (now a suburb of Târgu Neamț) in Neamț County, who was born and raised. The house is dated 1833, the building is a timber beam construction with a shingled roof and is listed as a historic monument. It was inhabited by the descendants of the Creangă family until 1959.
