Beautiful gorge Sapte Scari (Seven Ladders) | Brasov

Seven Ladders is not far from Brasov. In the direction of Sinaia, just after the end of the town, turn left to the beginning of the path.

At the beginning of the path you can already see what you can look forward to at the end of the day. Many local residents have set up stalls there with local dishes such as mici, grilled minced meat rolls, and offer seating and dining options.

The approximately one-hour walk to the gorge itself shines with breathtaking nature. Beautiful streams and wooded areas as well as colourful butterflies adorn the very natural path. In some places, you even have to cross logs to get across dry over small paths. Nevertheless, it is advisable to dress appropriately for water.

Once you arrive at the gorge, you pay a small fee and then have to wait in a queue for a while, depending on the number of visitors. We unfortunately had to wait about three quarters of an hour for our entrance to the gorge on a popular weekend day.

Access to the gorge begins with a ladder about 4 metres high through which you enter the gorge. The walls and the stream that meanders through the gorge are a truly breathtaking sight. Immediately after, there is a smaller ladder and a larger one, which is right next to a small waterfall. As already mentioned, you should wear clothes that can get wet. After this section, the path becomes much more relaxed. Of course, you have to walk over hill and dale, and for a short part along a mountain path, but these parts are also decorated by waterfalls and the surrounding beautiful nature.

For the way back, however, you can definitely plan more than an hour. After the 25-minute tour of the gorge, you start the way back through a forest. Be careful here, as the way back to the entrance of the gorge, which is a small path to the right after a while in the forest, is only very simply marked. It also becomes steep after a while, so sturdy shoes are recommended.
After about half an hour, you return to the entrance of the gorge and can expect to return roughly the same way as at the beginning of the hike. This hike offers the perfect day out for people looking for a very natural experience in the Kronstadt area.

Bringing children or toddlers is a matter of concern, however, as children under the age of 7 are not allowed in unless appropriate equipment such as safety helmets or safety harnesses are hired from the stand there. It is also likely to be a very long and strenuous walk for children, as you should allow at least 4 hours for the whole hike.

The beautiful path with the beautiful gorge are definitely worth a visit. However, please still make sure that you wear suitable clothing, sturdy shoes and are in optimal fitness.
