Bigar waterfall legend

Legend has it that a girl’s hair in the Almäjului valley was turned into a waterfall, into which her tears flowed. The boy she was in love with drowned in this waterfall. His name was Bigar. Many lovers who desire eternal love come to this place to drink water from the waterfall together. The Bigar waterfall is fed by underground spring water and flows over a 7-8 meters high conical limestone wall, which is completely covered with moss. Iasi Theater

The Iasi Theater Center burned down on the night of February 17-18, 1888 and was gradually rebuilt in the following years. A Venetian crystal chandelier with more than 100 light bulbs was chosen as the auditorium’s decoration in October 1896 as part of the first electric lighting tests.
