The nature reserve is located in the east of the Bihor Mountains (the Apuseni Mountains, part of the Western Carpathians mountain range) in the north-western part of Alba County and is home to numerous caves, including the Poarta lui Ionele cave.

From Arieseni, follow the DN 75 to the center of Garda de Sus. From there, turn left and after about 1 km turn right again at the first crossroads towards Poarta lui Ionele and Cheile Ordancusii. The gorges extend over a length of 4 kilometers in a picturesque landscape with impressive rock formations which invite you to take a walk, also to the nearby Scarisoara glacier.

The city of Oradea ( Hungarian: Nagyvarad ) is the capital of the Bihor district in northwestern Romania.

The city is first mentioned as a seat of the Roman Catholic bishop in document 1080 ( of 1113 ) and belonged to the Kingdom of Hungary. After the First World War, Oradea left for the Great Romania and later back to Hungary. It was recaptured in October 1944 and has been part of Romania since then.

Just a few kilometers away are Băile Felix ( German: Bad Felix ), an internationally renowned spa town with hot springs. Famous guests of the bathroom included Marlene Dietrich, Charlie Chaplin and the painter Salvador Dali. Today Bad Felix is the largest spa town in Romania with 200 springs.

The city of Oradea (German: Großwardein, Hungarian: Nagyvárad) is the capital of Bihor County and is located on the eastern edge of the Great Hungarian Plain on the Crisul Repede River (German: Schnelle Kreisch, Hungarian: Sebes-Körös).

The city center is 13 km from the Hungarian border.

Vultul Negru Palace is a secessionally built commercial arch in 1908 with a glass roof and cafes and boutiques inside.

The Moskovits Palace in the city of Oradea was a project by the architect Rimanoczy Kalman from 1905.

It is a two-story building with many plant motif ornaments and is one of the most beautiful examples of the Secession style (a variant of Art Nouveau, which developed mainly in Austria) of that time.

The palace is located on Republicii Boulevard in the city of Oradea, Bihor County, in the northwest of Romania.

The Bear's Cave (in German Bärenhöhle) is one of the most famous caves in Romania. It is located in the northwest of Transylvania / Romania, approximately 75 kilometers southeast of the county town of Oradea in Bihor County.

The Bear's Cave (municipality of Pietroasa, village of Chiscau) was discovered by chance in 1975 and showcases an impressive world of stalactites in its beauty and variety of forms. The highlight of each tour is the visit to a fossilized skeleton of a cave bear (Ursus spelaeus). This skeleton is fully preserved and has been there for about 15,000 years.

The palace is located on Republicii Boulevard in the city of Oradea, Bihor county, in north-western Romania.

Just a few kilometres from the city of Oradea, Bihor County, is Baile Felix, an internationally renowned spa town with thermal springs.

The thermal springs in Baile Felix have been used for around a thousand years. The water temperature ranges from 20 to 49 °C. The spa town has a modern cultural centre with a theatre, cinema, concert hall, library, numerous sports grounds and outdoor swimming pools fed by thermal water. Cafés, restaurants, pubs, bars, bookshops and shopping facilities of all kinds.

The parks with their alkaline sulphur springs are also home to the pink-flowered water lily "Nymphaea lothus thermalis", a unique plant in Europe and a botanical relic of the Tertiary period. It is the landmark of Bad Felix; a neighbourhood bears its name: Nufărul (Seelotus).

Famous guests of the baths included Marlene Dietrich, Charlie Chaplin and the painter Salvador Dali. Today, with 200 springs, Bad Felix is the largest spa resort in Romania.

Apuseni Mountains ( Roman: Apuseni Mountains, Hungarian: Erdélyi-középhegység ) is a mountain range in Transylvania that belongs to the Carpathians of Western Romania.

The highest peak is the Bihor peak with 1,849 meters, in the Apuseni mountains there are still about 400 caves.

Ponor Fortress is one of the largest karst areas * in Romania located in the Apuseni Mountains in the Padis area ( Padis Plateau ) in Bihor County.

The Padis Plateau is rich in karst formations, caves such as the Lost World ( Lost World ), Barsa Glacier, Rades Citadels and Caput Cave. There are several keys such as the Yellow Keys, the Somes Cald Gorges, the Rustinous Pit and others.

*In geology and geomorphology, the karst refers to underground forms of land ( karst caves ) and surface forms ( surface karst ) in carbonate rocks ( also in sulphate, salted rocks and sandstones / quartz ). Source: Wikipedia

The Episcopal Palace is an architectural monument in Oradea, built on the site of the ancient Palace of the Greek Catholic Episcopate of Oradea Mare.

The construction works took place between 1903-1905. The building was built in an eclectic style according to a design by the architect Kálmán Riman óczy and on June 11, 1905 inaugurated by Bishop Demetriu Radu.
