Eșelnița is a commune in Mehedinți County, situated directly on the Danube and in the so-called Danube Boilers / Iron Gates Gorge. Approximately five (5) kilometres upstream is the statue of Decebalus, king of the Dacians. Downstream lies the town of Orșova, with the “Saint Ana” Monastery. In this area, the Danube forms the border between Romania and Serbia.

„Palatul Moskovits” din orașul Oradea, județul Bihor, a fost proiectat în anul 1905 de arhitectul Rimanóczy Kálmán Jr.

Este o clădire cu două etaje, decorată cu numeroase ornamente cu motive vegetale și reprezintă unul dintre cele mai frumoase exemple de stil Sezession (o variantă a stilului Art Nouveau, dezvoltată în principal în Austria) din acea perioadă.

Hermannstadt / Sibiu / Nagyszeben (DE, RO, HU) a fost construit de coloniști sași (sașii transilvăneni) în secolele al XII-lea și al XIII-lea și, până în prezent, și-a păstrat în mare parte originile istorice.

Imagini de la sfârșitul lunii mai 2026 ale complexului fortificat din Târgu Mureș, județul Mureș, care datează din secolul al XVII-lea.

Fortificația este bine păstrată / restaurată; este înconjurată de ziduri înalte de apărare și include și o biserică, un parc frumos / spații verzi pentru relaxare, precum și o cafenea / restaurant. Intrarea în cetate este gratuită.

Delicious regional specialities, fresh local products, Slow Food and street food, live cooking, children’s activities, music, and much more 🥰

The Slow Food Festival takes place at Piața Artizanilor in the town of Berca. When you come across the bridge and see Berca Monastery or reach the town, turn left immediately after the bridge and continue for approximately 200 metres.

More than 7,000 great white pelicans and 700 Dalmatian pelicans live in the Danube Delta Biosphere Reserve, where they are considered symbols of the protected area.

The great white pelican (Pelecanus onocrotalus) and the Dalmatian pelican (Pelecanus crispus), reaching a height of up to 180 cm and weighing more than 13 kilograms, are among the largest birds in the Danube Delta. The largest pelican colony in Europe is located in the Roșca–Buhaiova area, in Tulcea County, in the Danube Delta.

The northern part of the reserve is crossed by the three distributaries of the Danube flowing in from the west and separating at Tulcea: the Chilia Branch, which forms the Romanian–Ukrainian state border in the north; the Sulina Branch in the centre; and the Sfântu Gheorghe Branch in the south. All three branches flow into the Black Sea.

We were there a few days ago, in Transylvania, Brasov County, just a few kilometers from Kronstadt (Brasov)… and we were thrilled!

An hour flies by and there is something for everyone: for the lover of history and stories, for the friend of Transylvania, the adventurer, for families with children who can explore the battlements and the way of life from long ago and so much more!

Our conclusion: The visit is 100% worth it

The TransApuseana (also known as Transalpina de Apuseni) stretches over a length of approximately 78 kilometers on the county road DJ107I and connects Aiud, located in the valley, with the Bucium / Abrud region in the heart of the Apuseni Mountains.

Both endpoints are located in Alba County. Start / End (East): Aiud (connection to the A10 motorway). The road branches off at Aiudul de Sus and leads up into the mountain world. End / Start (West): The area around Bucium and Abrud (connection to the national road DN74).

In Ilfov County, just a few kilometers northwest of Bucharest (the capital of Romania), lies Mogosoaia Palace on the banks of Mogosoaia Lake in the commune of Mogosoaia.

The palace complex includes a main courtyard and many buildings, such as the watchtower and the “St. George” church near the courtyard.

The Wallachian Prince Constantin Brancoveanu had the palace built between 1698 and 1702 on the estate of the widow Mogos (from which the later name Mogosoaia is derived) in the Brancoveanu architectural style named after him.
In 1714, when Constantin Brancoveanu was executed in Constantinople with his entire family, the Ottomans confiscated all the family assets and converted the palace into a han (a type of inn).
In the following decades, the palace was conquered, destroyed, and rebuilt several times until it came into the possession of George III Valentin Bibesco in 1912, who was married to the French writer of Romanian noble descent, Marthe Bibesco. He gave the estate to his wife, and Marthe Bibesco subsequently had the palace extensively restored.

Hunedoara Castle (also known as Corvin Castle, German: Burg Eisenmarkt, Romanian: Castelul Corvinilor or Castelul Huniazilor, Hungarian: Vajdahunyadi vár) is one of the most significant secular buildings in Transylvania.

The hilltop castle was built on the remains of a 14th-century fortification and is located in the southwestern part of the city of Hunedoara (German: Eisenmarkt), in western Romania.

The Valcea County Library, located in the county capital Ramnicu Valcea, was built in 1950 and currently houses more than 400,000 books and documents.

In addition to its vast collection of books, a remarkable attraction is the glass roof, “The Creation of the World,” made up of 86 modules, which is unique in Europe in this form. The glass roof covers an area of 142 square meters and is located 30 meters above the base of the building.

Pictures from mid-August 2026 of Le Mont-Saint-Michel, a small village in the French region of Normandy. The “island,” which is named after the Archangel Michael, is only about one kilometre from the coast and can be reached on foot at low tide.

It covers an area of approximately 55,000 m² and rises to almost 60 metres above sea level. As early as 1022, the fortified Mont-Saint-Michel Abbey was founded here, towering high on the summit.
