Carturesti Carusel bookshop is much more than just a "bookshop". It is located in the historical centre of Bucharest and is spread over six (6) floors with a total area of 1,000 m2.

A bistro on the top floor, a multimedia room in the basement and a contemporary art gallery on the first floor invite you to browse, linger and shop.

The elegant 19th-century building came into the possession of the famous Chrissoveloni banking family in 1903, then was confiscated during the communist period and converted into a shop. After 1990, the building was brought back to life by its current owner, Jean Chrissoveloni, in collaboration with the architectural firm Square One.
