Știol Lake is a glacial lake in the Rodnei Mountains (Romanian: Munții Rodnei National Park, part of a mountain group of the Eastern Carpathians) at an altitude of 1,800 meters, at the foot of the Gârgălău peak in Maramureș County.

The lake can be reached by chairlift from the Borșa tourist center, the journey takes 17 minutes. Lake Știol is a glacial lake, which was created by global warming and the subsequent melting of the last glaciers in Romania. The water was captured in the deep valleys of the mountains, and the lake is living proof of the glaciers that existed in Romania thousands of years ago.
