In the Ilfov district, a few kilometers northwest of Bucharest ( the capital of Romania ), Mogosoaia Castle is located on the shores of Lake Mogosoaia, in Mogosoaia.
The castle contains a main courtyard and many buildings, such as the watchtower and the church „ Saint George ” near the courtyard.
Wallachian Prince Constantin Brancoveanu had the castle built between 1698 and 1702 on the estate of the widow Mogos ( from which the name Mogosoaia ) later derives in the Brancoveanu architecture style named after him.
In 1714, when Constantin Brancoveanu and his entire family were executed in Constantinople, the Ottomans confiscated the entire family fortune and turned the palace into an inn ( a kind of inn ).
In the following decades, the castle was conquered, destroyed and rebuilt repeatedly, until it became the property of George III in 1912. Valentin Bibesco arrived, who was married to the French writer Marthe Bibesco from the Romanian nobility. He gave the estate to his wife, and Marthe Bibesco restored the castle at sea.

Mogoșoaia Castle, near Bucharest

X
(01 March 2024)
In the Ilfov district, just a few kilometers northwest of Bucharest (the capital of Romania), Mogoșoaia Citadel is located on the shore of Mogoșoaia lake in Mogoșoaia municipality.
The castle has a main courtyard and many buildings such as the watch tower and the church "St. Gheorghe" near the yard.
The Wallachian prince Constantin Brancoveanu built the castle between 1698 and 1702 on the estate of the widow Mogos (from where the later name Mogoșoaia derives) in the style of the Brancoveanu building named after him.
In 1714, when Constantin Brancoveanu was executed with his entire family in Constantinople, the Ottomans confiscated all the family's property and turned the palace into a Han (a kind of inn). The castle was conquered, destroyed and rebuilt several times over the following decades until it became the property of George III in 1912. Valentin Bibesco succeeded, who was married to Marthe Bibesco, a French writer of Romanian nobility. He gave the estate to his wife, Marthe Bibesco, after which he extensively restored the castle.

In the heart of the Semenic Mountains there is a place full of wonderful landscapes, an oasis of peace and relaxation. It is about the Trei Ape Resort in the village of the same name in Caraș-Severin county, approximately 35 kilometers from the town of Reșita. The resort is located right next to Lake Trei Ape, the highest reservoir in the Semenic massif.
The name Trei Ape, given to both the resort and the lake that formed in the area, comes from the three streams that descend from the mountains. Grădişte and Semenic, which meet here to create the Timiș river.
The resort with three waters is loved by winter sports enthusiasts, and that's because there is also a skiing section. In addition, tourists who want to explore the surroundings can start on very well-marked trails to the Anina or Semenic mountains, but also to the nearby tourist villages such as Gărâna or Brebu Nou. Those who want to spend the night at Lake Trei Ape can do so in several cabins, country houses, guesthouses and a hotel located in the tourist resort of the same name.
To get to this area, drive from Reșita on an asphalted road for 37 kilometers through Secu, Văliug, Brebu Nou and Gărâna.
