Rupea Castle is located near the town of Rupea (in German: Reps), approx. 50 km from Brasov (Kronstadt) - on the way to Targu Mures - and is one of the oldest castles on Romanian territory.

The castle was built in the 11th century and is the landmark of the town of Rupea (Reps). High above the town on Kohalm Hill (578 meters), it can be seen from afar. It was first mentioned in documents in 1324, when the Saxons fought against the King of Hungary.

The village of Viscri (German: Deutsch-Weisskirch, Hungarian: Szaszfeheregyhaza) is located in the county of Brasov in Transylvania.

The Sphinx (Sfinxul in Romanian) is a natural rock formation located in the Bucegi Mountains*, at an altitude of approx. 2,215 meters.

*The Bucegi Mountains are located south of the city of Brașov (Kronstadt) on the eastern edge of the Southern Carpathians in Romania.

The commune of Ungra (in German: Galt, in Hungarian: Ugra) is located in Brașov County and consists of the two villages Dăișoara and Ungra.

Ungra is situated about 10 km from Rupea, on the right bank of the Olt River.

A beautiful photo of the fortified church/peasant castle of Tartlau in Prejmer (Tartlau), Brasov county, Transylvania.

The construction of the church in the centre of the complex was probably started in 1218 by the Teutonic Order, which was expelled from the region in 1225. Construction was then continued under the Cistercian monastery of Kerz. A special feature of the inventory is the late Gothic winged altar from the mid-15th century.

Rupea Fortress / Castle ( first mentioned in 1324, German name: Burg Reps ) is located near the town of Rupea, which is halfway between Brașov and Sighișoara, in the northern part of the Brașov district.

Rupea Fortress was a refuge for the population of surrounding villages in the repeated sieges of Turks and Tartars. It was built in 1324 during the Saxon uprising against the Hungarian king Carol Robert of Anjou. Later, residents added three defensive towers and two courtyards to the first building, which served as a shelter. In the first courtyard there is a deep well of 59 meters, which still carries water to this day.

The fortress of Brasov (in German Kronstadt) is a fortification built in the 15th century on Straja Hill (Castle Hill) to repel enemy attacks.

Throughout its history, it has been attacked and rebuilt time and again, and was even an important point of defense during the First World War. Originally, there was only the fortress tower. From 1630-1631 the outer fortress was built. The horseshoe-shaped central tower has three floors and served several purposes over the centuries: it was used as a storehouse, was a prison for Turkish prisoners in the 18th century, and was also used as a fortress.

Black Church (Black Church) is one of the landmarks of Brașov (in German Kronstadt) in Transylvania (in German Transylvania).
