Just outside the city of Cluj-Napoca, in northwest Romania, is the Hoia Baciu forest area, one of the most visited forests in the world, also known as the Romanian Bermuda Triangle. Why? Over the decades there have been thousands of reports of paranormal activity, mobile network disturbances, sightings of balls of light and ghosts, as well as missing animals, people and more…
The Hoia Baciu forest takes its name from a shepherd from the region who disappeared in the forest with his flock of sheep. One story tells of a five-year-old girl who went into the woods and five years later came back wearing the same clothes and not looking a day older. Many other stories revolve around a clearing where nothing grows and though scientists have examined the land and found that everything is fine. The forest is a fascinating and unique place to visit or hike.
And whether you’re looking for the supernatural… or just after an interesting hike, this forest is worth a visit.
