Giurgiu is a Romanian county in the Wallachia region with the capital of Giurgiu district. Its usual abbreviation and license plate are GR. Giurgiu county borders Dâmbovița county to the north, Ilfov and Călărași counties to the east, Bulgaria to the south and Teleorman county to the west.
