In the north of Romania, in Maramureș County, lies the Sapanta Monastery, also known as Peri Monastery.

In 1391, the grandchildren of Dragos Voda donated the land and goods on which the monastery, a stone church, was built. The Roman Catholic Church „ Saints Peter and Paul ” from Brașov ( Brasov ) was founded in the second half of the 18th century. 19th century built according to the plans of the architect Karl Joseph Lamasch.
