Bavarian delicacies and specialties at the Oktoberfest in Kronstadt (Brașov)
The most delicious Bavarian specialties will again be served at the Oktoberfest this year. The organizers start the preparations in cooperation with restaurateurs 7 days before the Oktoberfest. You can already dream of German sausages, traditional Bavarian pretzels, Wiener Schnitzel, fried potatoes and many other delicacies.
Of course, many traditional Romanian delicacies are also served.
We advise all visitors to visit the festival early in order not to get into the situation that one or the other treat may already be sold out (in other words, plastered over). The last few years have shown that the rush for the delicious food is very high.
The combination of classic “Oktoberfest feast” and good Romanian cuisine leaves nothing to be desired and shows wonderfully how beautiful cooperation between different countries can be and how diverse such a festival is.
Oktoberfest: The History
Why is the Oktoberfest held in September?
A German law from 1539 stipulated that beer could only be brewed between September 29 and April 23, as the risk of fire during brewing was much higher in summer. Without today’s storage conditions, producers had to sell all of the year’s beer before they could start brewing a new one. Oktoberfest begins around September 20th and ends on the first Sunday in October.
But why is it called Oktoberfest when it takes place in September? Celebrations began in Munich on October 12, 1810 and ended on October 17 with a horse race. Because it was so beautiful, the festival was repeated in the years that followed, later extended and moved forward in time. Right into September. This is the reason why the Oktoberfest in September is still called that.
We wish you a nice day and look forward to seeing you at the party.
