Here’s a video clip about how clothes and laundry were traditionally made and cleaned earlier (and apparently for tourists today).

Iași – Always worth a trip
(15 June 2021)
Iași, in northeastern Romania, is a city with an ancient history. Once the capital of Moldova, Iași is now one of the largest cities in Romania, characterized by an international airport and over 25,000 students from various faculties. Worth a visit by plane, a road trip should be reserved for those who like to drive a lot. From Timișoara (near the Hungarian border) it’s another 10-12 hours by car, from Sibiu only on country roads.
Night driving is not recommended for many rural roads in Romania! Sometimes the median is missing, other times the verge, pedestrians are usually dressed in dark clothes and it can happen that a cow is warming up on the road (usually in spring or fall) and patiently waits until the driver stops and takes the other lane passing by. There are also potholes to mention, these are certainly more frequent and larger than in Germany and you should pay sufficient attention to them if you are interested in continuing your journey

Black Sea, Mamaia … yesterday
(14 June 2021)
Konstanza (Constanța): We were there (Mamaia) yesterday and just wanted to be sure. The weather report said rain and around 2pm, almost blue skies (pictures a bit later), 27 degrees and occasional sunbathers already enjoying the beach and the wonderful weather. Then at 15:00, fortunately, we saw the clouds and sat in a solid-roofed restaurant … thunderstorms, hail and rain … until the evening when we leave Constanta again.
It was beautiful, but if you want to swim … you have to wait a bit for the weather gods. A little …
