Airplane in the garden – where is it?
(24 August 2020 / Images: November 2016)
We took this picture in November 2016 on our journey from Galati to Sibiu and eventually to Timisora. We’ve driven the road 100 times well since then, but we can’t find the garden by airplane anymore. Does anyone happen to know where the aircraft is and if it is still there? Gladly by messenger, we don’t want to violate anyone’s privacy, but despite everything we think the idea is unique. Thank you.

An unfulfilled love story – Ugron Castle in Zau de Campie
(21 July 2020 / Images: July 2020)
The castle of Zau de Câmpie was built on the model of a calendar. It has 365 windows for the days, 4 towers for the seasons, 52 rooms for the weeks in a year, 7 terraces for the days in a week and 12 corridors for the months in a year. The castle is characterized by an unfulfilled love story between the owner and a Russian princess.
The owner of the castle, Count Istvan Ugron, the Austro-Hungarian ambassador to Russia, fell in love with one of the daughters of the Russian Tsar Nicholas II. However, he could not fulfill all the princess’s expectations and demands (including opening the road to the castle with gold coins) and thus stopped holding court.
Currently there are plans to renovate the castle so that it can be used for various purposes in the future.
